In an age where reimbursement is decreasing and costs increasing, it is pertinent to continue to keep the patient experience as the focus. The healthcare setting continues to transform with the rapid development of new technology. Leveraging technology to drive the best patient experience is a key driver and ongoing challenge. Technology can be utilized in many ways including robotics to increase efficiencies, prioritizing exams on worklists based on AI findings for radiologists and technologists, and automating manual tasks, for example. The people and processes are required for the technology to function. A key component is creating a structure that supports standardization and systemness to enable and empower the teams to provide the right test to the right patient at the right time. This is accomplished by enabling the tools that technology offers today and thinking outside the borders to do things in ways we never have before and leveraging the resources in new ways to reach and engage our patients. We will share our experiences with developing new processes, new structures, and staffing models, and pushing the boundaries, and thinking outside the box. Reviewing how we monitored the tools we enabled and how they were leveraged, including the challenges and successes along the way.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion the participant will be able to describe how technology was utilized to drive efficiencies.
Upon the completion, the participant will be able to list how resources were deployed and structured to accomplish systemness and standardization.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe how AI can be utilized to improve patient experience.
