Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand and control your own emotions in positive ways to communicate effectively, lead by example, empathize with others, see challenges to overcome as opportunities to grow and expand and defuse conflict with staff and patients while relieving stress. This session will provide the roadmap to develop imaging leaders to turn intention into action from the process and not operate from expectations tied to the outcome for creating a thriving care unit environment while maximizing better care for patients. Empathy and kindness over pleasing and enabling through EQ bring people together rather than division despite differences in perspectives. It will cover the importance of four tiers of the EQ process: 1) Self Control, 2) Self Awareness, 3) Social Awareness, and 4) Fostering Interdependent Relationships with Staff that lead to higher performance from your team for more positive patient experiences. In addition, you will receive a step-by-step process to help you as the leader and your care unit reduce the stress that leads to higher retention and less absenteeism to reach your care unit’s performance objectives.
