This lecture will cover the four recent Practice Standards that have been added to the CT Practice Standards following the 2022 ASRT House of Delegates meeting that are about remote CT scanning. It will cover the reason for adding these to the document, the process for reviewing the standards, and what is required to add or modify them. We will also review the ASRT House processes, and what it means to be a chapter or affiliate delegate in the ASRT House. And we will cover projected Practice Standards for MRI and NM that will also be in response to remote scanning technology available for advanced imaging modalities and its appropriate (and inappropriate) uses..
Learning Objectives:
Define Remote Scanning as it applies to advanced imaging modalities.
Make informed decisions in regards to remote scanning technology and department operations/staffing while maintaining patient safety.
Distinguish the difference between practice standards, scope of practice, and advisory opinion statements and be able to discuss the process by which Practice Standards are reviewed and/or modified.
